Wellbeing

Home

I mua i tōna matenga, he wahine rangatira a Horoirangi, he karanga-tuahine hoki nō Tamatekapua.  Nā ōna pūkenga ia i rangatira ai, ā, i muri mai i tōna matenga ka tohua ko ia hei kaitiaki o Ngāti Tuarā.

Ko tā Horoirangi he tiaki i te haumakotanga o te whenua me te pā tawhito o Te Whetengū.  Nā tana tiaki i maha ai ngā manu, i makuru ai ngā hua i te ngahere rā. He mea tiaki hoki a Ngāti Tuarā e Horoirangi i tā rātau kaha whakanui i a ia i ia rā.

Ko ngā kūmara tuatahi i hauhakehia ai me ngā manu tuatahi i patua ai ngā koha i whakatakotohia ai ki ōna rekereke.  Whai muri tonu i te kaupapa rā ka tanumia ngā kai tēnā i te whakapau i te tapu o te kawenga rā.

I te wā o te toa poropiti e kīia nei tōna ingoa ko Te Kooti i te tau 1870, ka whakarērea te pā i Tihi-o-tonga.  I muri mai, nā tētehi o ngā tohunga whakamutunga o Te Arawa, arā, nā Rangiriri a Horoirangi i kawe atu i tōna kāinga ki wāhi kē atu kei takakinotia.  I ngā tau o te 1920, he mea hari a Horoirangi ki Tāmaki Paenga Hira kia riro kē mā rātau ia e tiaki mō tōna haumarutanga te take.

He maha ngā kōrero mō ngā atua tāne i kohia ai, i tuhia hoki ai e ngāi Tauiwi, heoi, karekau noa iho ngā kōrero mō ngā atua wāhine i paku kōrerohia, ā, nā wai rā ka wareware.
